In November 2008, after years of failed policies and what many of us think are illegal actions of the Bush/Cheney crowd, we helped transfer power in Congress back to the Democrats.

History was made when Nancy Pelosi became the first female Speaker of the House and we were all delighted whenever Bush gave major addresses to Congress, to be able to look beyond him and see Nancy sitting there, and not standing when Bush pushed Republican buttons.

We thought Bush would have had to begin the end of the Iraq war by now and would have been prevented from so many actions civil libertarians think have, at best, crossed the line.

Complete disappointment has set in for the Progressive Wing of the Democratic Party and we think the rest of the Party had better wake up. We would like to oust Nancy Pelosi in the Democratic Congressional Primary in San Francisco District 8 and replace her with Shirley Golub.

Deb Della Pina has recently interviewed Shirley and it is a must read for all Progressives and for all Democrats who want to maintain their majority.

Pelosi has been joined in her hypocrisy, promising action, then preventing it from happening, by John Conyers and Harry Reid. They are keeping Impeachment off the table and are aggressively funding the Iraq war.
